This is Rheba.  (Have to remember to post my name in the message otherwise my name doesn't pop up with my post). Just a thought that came to me this morning.  We feel bogged down reading all the minute details of Leviticus and Numbers.  God gave Moses instruction on every little detail of building the tabernacle, clothing for the priests,  the laws and punishments, clean and unclean, foods to eat and not eat, exactly how the sacrifices were to be carried out and when and for what and how often. God, also throughout the Old Testament, instructs the Israelites on exactly how he wants them to do battle, weapons to use (look at Gideon), how many people to use in the battle (300 of Gideon), exactly what they are to say to their enemies, how much destruction to carry out on their enemies, who to do battle with and so much more. Number one, the biggest thing that hit me this morning is, no wonder  all the detail he goes into!  Look at the world God created around us and the detail that is in every bit of His creation! The scientific findings of how things are put together within us, within other creatures (in the book Crazy Love, the author points out that in a caterpillar's head alone there are 228 separate and distinct muscles), within all inanimate objects, plants, the oceans, the way the solar system works, the seasons, the recurrence of plant life throughout each season to go through all the stages for another year, and just anything else you can think of.  The detail God instructed Moses and the others on is nothing compared to the detail that he SPOKE into existence in our world. Number 2, He could just as easily have spoken the tabernacle into existence and saved himself a lot of time, but he allowed His people to be a part of helping build His dwelling place among them, patiently giving instruction to those before us. He could have done it all but mankind was privileged to take part in God's instruction and working with him to achieve these tasks. Number 3, most importantly He gives us a life guide in His Word through the Bible through His prophets and those who were privileged to put down His words for future believers to have and treasure.  God cares about every detail of our lives from the tiniest thing to the catastrophic things.  Lets be patient in reading about the details in Leviticus and Numbers, and be excited about the future treasures He will reveal to us in His word.
